HEX RUN / YOUR DATA
Privacy policy
Your game stays on your device. Online scores use Apple Game Center.
Updated 20 September 2026 · App version 1.0
No ads or tracking SDKs. HEX RUN has no proprietary game server and requires no Treeview account. You can play without Game Center.
1. Who is responsible?
HEX RUN is provided by Valentijn Vyvey under the name Treeview. This policy covers the app, this minisite and support. For privacy questions, use the email address below. Apple is independently responsible for its own services, including the App Store and Game Center.
2. Data on your iPhone
The app stores your maze, progress, local high score, language and sound settings on your device so you can play and resume later. With Game Center it also stores a game-specific player identifier and the highest pending and submitted scores, keeping scores associated with the correct player and allowing retries. Your display name is used while signed in.
This local data is not sent to a Treeview server. It remains until replaced or until you delete the app and its data. Offloading the app preserves data. Depending on your settings, app data may be included in an Apple device backup.
3. Game Center
At launch the app checks Game Center sign-in. While you are signed in, scores from completed levels associated with your player are automatically sent to Apple for the leaderboard. Failed submissions are kept locally and retried later. Your nickname, avatar and scores may be visible to other Game Center users. Apple may also process game activity under its own policy.
Game Center is optional. Sign out in your iPhone settings to play without online scores. The app requests no friends list and includes no chat, multiplayer or proprietary cloud saves. Apple determines retention, international processing and privacy choices for its services. Deleting HEX RUN does not delete scores already stored by Apple. See the Apple policies below.
4. Contact and support
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you send, such as your name, device information or a screenshot. We use this to answer questions and solve problems. Do not send passwords, Apple Account credentials or unnecessary sensitive information.
The legal basis is performance of our service for app support, or our legitimate interest in answering other enquiries. Messages are retained as needed for handling and relevant follow-up, or longer if required by law or a specific dispute. Email providers process the correspondence.
5. Website and purchases
The site selects a language using your browser's Accept-Language header, without location tracking. A manual choice takes priority and is saved in the functional hexrun_language cookie for up to one year. Choose Automatic to delete this cookie and use browser preferences again. Language links also contain the selected language. The cookie is used only to remember your requested preference, never for advertising.
The site includes no analytics, advertising trackers or external fonts. Images and styles are served locally. The server receives technical information such as your IP address, requested page and browser information to deliver the site. Any logs are used for security and troubleshooting and retained no longer than necessary. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a safe, available website.
Purchases use the App Store. The app does not request payment card details. Apple processes purchases and any diagnostics under its terms and your settings. The app has no proprietary analytics or crash-reporting SDK. We do not sell data or use it for advertising, profiling or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
6. Your choices and rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data we process, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us below; we may need to verify your identity. Local game data is managed on your device. For Apple data, use Apple's settings and Data and Privacy portal. You may complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority or your local supervisory authority.
The app does not ask for your date of birth. Parents can use Apple Screen Time to restrict Game Center features. If the app or our processing changes, we will update this policy and its date.
